In short

It shows you balance aging, projected cash flow and organized reports so your accountant works with complete information.

Challenges

  • You find out a customer has overdue invoices only after months have gone by.
  • Expenses are recorded late and you don't know where the money is going.
  • Knowing how much is in the bank means checking several accounts and spreadsheets.
  • Your accountant gets loose papers and scattered files at the end of the month.

What is an accounts receivable aging report?

It is a report that groups what your customers owe you by how long it has been overdue, for example current, 1 to 30 days, 31 to 60 and over 60. It helps you prioritize collections and spot risky customers before you keep selling to them on credit.

How can an SME improve its cash flow?

First you have to see it: how much will come in from collections, how much will go out for payments and payroll, and on which dates. With that projection you can negotiate terms with suppliers, collect sooner from those who fall behind and avoid running out of cash in weeks with large payments.

Does this system replace my accountant?

No. Your accountant remains in charge of tax filings and accounting judgment. The system gives them complete, organized information connected to invoices and the bank, so they spend their time advising you rather than gathering data.
